Tomorrow, Tuesday, 11/4, Is Election Day: Make History And VOTE!

From the PA. AFL-CIO

– In under 36 hours, the polls will close, the dust will settle, and we will find out what kind of a future is in store for workers in Pennsylvania. The good news is that you have a vote in this election – but only if you show up and use it. Because the stakes are so high this year, for the future of workers’ rights in Pennsylvania, we need you to do more than just vote tomorrow; we need you to talk to your coworkers, your family members, and your friends and neighbors. Urge them to vote also, because when working people vote, we can counter the influence of corporate money in campaigns, and elect leaders who will enact a pro-worker agenda.

That is why The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO has endorsed Tom Wolf for Governor, because we believe he will lead Pennsylvania in a new direction, and respect the vital role that labor plays in creating an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

But Tom Wolf can’t do it alone! This is why we have also endorsed in State Legislative races across Pennsylvania, many of which will be decided by a mere handful of votes.

Look no further than anti-labor extremist Rick Saccone, who in 2012 defeated Dave Levdansky by just 112 votes. Rick Saccone has since gone on to co-sponsor so-called “Paycheck Protection” legislation, along with numerous bills attacking pensions, prevailing wage, and more.

In 2010 one of the closest races was Sue Helm, who defeated challenger Gene Stilp by a mere 313 votes. She went on to co-sponsor Daryl Metcalfe’s “Right-To-Work” legislation, HB50, as well as the “Paycheck Protection” bill. She supported numerous attacks on pensions and prevailing wage, and she even supported Corbett’s failed scheme to outsource the management of the Pennsylvania Lottery to a foreign corporation.

If union members vote, this year we can make sure these close contests go our way, and result in electing candidates who will defend workers’ rights, instead of attacking them!

Use your voice, and make your plan to VOTE!
