Phillylabor.com Editorial: Privatization Without Consideration

– Because Government can not seem to manage it’s own affairs and programs properly, the new big thing is to seek Privatization by subbing out and hiring a private business to come in and cut corners without consideration for the laid off workers.

Maybe we need to layoff the public and government officials who can’t manage these programs and find new leadership and in the process save thousands of jobs held by hard working Americans.

Say No and continue to fight against Privatization of Pa. Liquor stores, Pa. State lottery, National Mail Carriers just to name a few!

– POSTED: Tuesday, January 22, 2013, 10:03 AM – Joseph N. DiStefano, Philly.com – http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-phillydeals/GOPs-anti-union-wing-wants-PA-Right-to-Work-rule.html –

State Representatives Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler), Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland), Jim Cox (R-Berks), Fred Keller (R-Union/Snyder), Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Schuylkill), and Kathy Rapp (R-Warren), joined by private business-funded Americans for Prosperity, the nonunion Associated Builders and Contractors, National Right to Work Committee, National Federation of Business, PA Chamber of Business and Industry, PA Manufacturers’ Association, Pennsylvanians for Right to Work, Stop Teacher Strikes, and others, plans a Harrisburg news conference today to press Gov. Corbett to follow Michigan’s example and pass a “Right to Work” law that would prevent unions from collecting dues from people who don’t want to pay them.

PA establishment Republicans have a long history of working with unions, especially in Senate leader Dom Pileggi’s Delaware County. The reps, who mostly represent upstate, rural and elderly districts, are trying to push the GOP to combat remaining labor influence in the state.

AUTOMATED ROBOTS REPLACING WORKERS IS SUBJECT OF 60 MINUTES SEGMENT

From Philly Labor –

A 60 Minutes Segment that aired tonight demonstrated the future of automation in the work place and how robots will be replacing people at alarming rates. At one point, it demonstrated that a $22,000.00 Robot working in the place of a person is equal to paying a worker $3.35 an hour therefore saving the company more money than if it hired a Chinese worker.

The segment also said that the robotic automation will allow American manufacturing the ability to more effectively compete with China and within 3 years there will be a huge increase in American Manufacturing. ONLY ONE PROBLEM, ALL THE JOBS WILL BE GOING TO ROBOTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING SOME ALREADY RICH GUY (PROBABLY FROM CHINA BUT WHO REALLY CARES WHERE HE IS FROM) RICHER!!!!

Only one question 60 Minutes did not ask when it was talking about the amount of computer science/automation tech jobs that were going to be created due to the robots, WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FACTORY WORKERS (IN THE USA AND IN CHINA) WHO ARE OUT OF JOBS BECAUSE THEY WERE REPLACED BY ROBOTS?????
