After you send your State Rep an email, give them a call or visit their local office to let them know you oppose anti-worker and anti-union legislation like SB 166.
The Pennsylvania State House is set to consider another piece of anti-worker legislation with Senate Bill 166. Before Thanksgiving, the Pennsylvania House State Government Committee passed TWO anti-worker, Paycheck “Protection” bills.
In February, the state Senate passed paycheck “protection” legislation with SB 166. Paycheck “protection” has nothing to do with protecting workers paychecks; it’s an attack on our first amendment rights in the interest of corporate greed. These payroll deductions are voluntary, and cost the Commonwealth nothing.
Paycheck “protection” legislation is supported by far-right, special interest groups and corporate backers, like ALEC and the Koch brothers. Bills like SB 166, are designed to sound harmless, but they pave the way for more anti-union, anti-worker, pro-greed policies like “right to work”. According to the SB 166’s sponsor, Senator John Eichelberger, this bill is “the first step toward ‘right to work’ in Pennsylvania”.
